speccygeekgrrl42: (tired.)
:(

I have no initiative today.

I know I should be recording podfic-- for god's sake, I still owe someone a [livejournal.com profile] help_japan prize-- or writing today's poem, or doing my comps, or doing anything besides going between LJ, Facebook and Tumblr over and over and over again. At the very least, I could get dressed and do a poetry reading, that would only take a couple of minutes. Or start pulling my stuff out of the closet and repacking my bags so I can put dirty clothes in my laundry hamper. Go up to the attic and find an empty box. Do something. I've been awake for two hours and all I've done is hotness deathmatch and reblogging shit on Tumblr. Brian and April will be home in three hours. That's enough time to do everything if I just get off my ass and start doing it now.

Okay. A to-do list.

-clean rat cage
-record Robin Hood story
-record Sherlock/Inception story
-write a poem for today
-write a poem for yesterday
-find a box
-repack stuff

Later:
-go to the pharmacy
-bake cream cheese tarts
-watch Sherlock with April
-shower

Theoretically I can get everything on this list done. Let's see how much I actually accomplish.
speccygeekgrrl42: (absolutely gobsmacked : Ianto)
Things I have to do tomorrow:

-laundry (including bedsheets)
-change the rat cage
-finish reading the kink meme because I'm not going to have much time for it later
-bake a blueberry pie

Things I would like to get around to:
-selling my textbooks back through bigwords.com
-moving at least two boxes down to the basement
-clearing off the armchair in my bedroom

Man, I would love to bring this armchair to Wells with me. There might even be room for it once Mary and I bunk the beds... but it's not really mine, it has to stay with the house like all the other furniture.

The point remains, I would like to have an armchair in my dorm room, since getting all my work done on my bed is going to be much harder when I'm on a top bunk, and the desk chairs they provide are massively uncomfortable. I'm not even sure if we're allowed to bring big furniture like that, but I'm willing to try to sneak it onto campus... I mean, I'm already going to be sneaking rats in, furniture isn't that big a deal in comparison.

Things I will get to do if I get everything else done tomorrow:
-get high
-watch X-Men: First Class again

This basically means I can't sleep in until 2 tomorrow like I've been doing. And starting Tuesday I'm going to be going to work with my mother, so I'm going to actually have to wake up at a reasonable hour every weekday.

However, I do have something to look forward to: on Friday my parents and Rachael are leaving for Massachusetts, and Amber is going to be stopping here on her way home from Indiana. Then on Saturday Shane will be here. So... I really need to clean my room before my girlfriend gets here, basically.
speccygeekgrrl42: (absolutely gobsmacked : Ianto)
I have a metric shitload of things I need to get done before spring break, so I should probably make some kind of to-do list or schedule or something.

speccygeekgrrl42: (stretch! : Brett!Holmes)
[Error: unknown template qotd]

I usually have at least a little bit of recall. Last night I dreamed about working in a store kind of like Family Dollar and arguing with my boss and snarking at my coworkers.

You're all probably sick of hearing about my dreams, since they make no sense most of the time. :P

I went to bed ridiculously early last night-- like, before the sun even went down, I was down for the count. I wanted to stay up and watch The Disappearance of the Lady Frances Carfax with [livejournal.com profile] lemonflav_lopfe, but I was so randomly exhausted that I fell asleep during the rewatching of Hound of the Baskervilles, and that only ran until like 7:30. When I can't keep my eyes open for Russian Holmes and Vatson, you know I'm tired.

So I woke up before 7am today and I've just been messing about on Facebook since then. I got enough Farmville friends to get the new farm expansion, I now have the biggest farm it is possible to have. :D Now I just need to finish my new nursery barn so I have a place to put all these calves that are just sitting around taking up valuable arable land, and I can start working on my elderberries mastery for serious. I just finished mastering carrots this morning.

I also loaded some of the BBC Holmes radio plays onto my iPod in preparation for time spent riding the train, and almost had a fit when it said it was restoring from a backup from May. Um, no, seriously, I set you to manually manage so you wouldn't pull this shit on me, now straighten up and act right, Dr. McCoy. Temperamental electronics are going to be the end of me.

Okay. My plan for today involves cleaning off my armchair (with subdivisions of: putting away clothing, arranging books to be read, throwing away random scraps of paper, and getting certain things ready to mail back to Wells), recording at least three podfics (one for [livejournal.com profile] gulf_aid_now, which, the chick still didn't send me recordings of the Japanese names for reference like I asked her to so I'm just going to wing it and if I screw it up, well, I'll do it over at the end of the month, and the other two for [livejournal.com profile] gyzym, which should be easy because 7 and 8 are short chapters), getting my messenger bag prepared for leaving, and washing the sheets on my bed. I should probably start with the last one, actually, because that involves getting off my ass and then I'll have momentum to do the first thing...
speccygeekgrrl42: (absolutely gobsmacked : Ianto)
I am strongly contemplating getting another small tattoo to balance out the semicolon behind my right ear while I'm in Plattsburgh. I don't know just what yet. Part of me is leaning towards a pair of parentheses, but I think someone suggested an ampersand and that's also an appealing idea. I would go for an ellipsis but that would totally just look like a line of birthmarks. Maybe I could combine them, and go with a parenthetical ellpisis? (...) Is that too cheesy? I don't even know if I'll have enough money to do it, this is basically just idle speculation unless my parents will actually buy my train tickets for me.

I'm trying to come up with a list of things I want to do during the 11 days I'm in Plattsburgh.
-I want to play lawn golf with George and Michelle.
-I want to spend at least one afternoon with the Browns, and I specifically want to chase Kenzie around outside.
-I want to go to the Oxbow and maybe even jump off the lower cliff.
-I would really like to get laid, but there are complications to that I might not want to deal with, and that reminds me I need to make a filtered post later.
-I want to get stoned off my face with my brother, with Amber and Kevin, with Kelly, and with George. (I want to bring the pipe Julia got me in Virginia and break it in.)
-I would like to spend a little time with Kristin and maybe even see Minerva for the first time since May 2008. The cat probably won't even remember me but I'd like to see her anyways.
-I want to see Lacy and Thomas's new place.
-I want to watch somebody play Assassin's Creed 2, I'm not picky who.
-Ideally, I'd like to make it to Burlington one day, but I'm not expecting that to happen.
-I want to see a movie at the new theater because that place is nice-- I'm thinking Inception, because I promised my mother I would see Sorcerer's Apprentice with her.
-I want to have a coffee shake from Stewarts as close to daily as possible.
-I want to get chicken tikka masala from Karma and a bento box from Koto.
-I want to visit the Cornerstone Bookshop.
-I want to play beer pong with my brother as my partner, and I want to win.
-I want to get drunk on my birthday.
-I want to sit around a fire and shoot the shit with my friends.

Most of these are attainable goals. I know I won't get the entire list done, but it gives me a good place to start when I get there and say "what shall I do today?"

Now, I'm just waiting for the ambien to kick in. I'm in Rachael's room and this is the first time I've been comfortable temperature-wise in a couple of days now. It's going to be nice not waking up all sweaty, for a change. The drone of the A/C is going to bug me until the drugs drag me under, though.
speccygeekgrrl42: (angels get a better view : Gabriel)
So my plan for the next three hours goes like this:

get dressed, brush my teeth, get to school
take my final and kick its papery ass
stop by the GIS lab and give Matt his books back
maybe try to sell back my myth book, I may keep it, it will be a spur of the moment decision
come home
make myself a Dewey and Parker icon, since I plan on playing with them quite a lot in the near future
do the first discussion for English Lit because I can get away with talking about nothing but T.S. Eliot

and then I'll figure out what to do after dinner.

It's better to plan my day out in small chunks, I'm discovering. Giving myself a time limit for things is a smart idea.

Now, off to show off what I've learned about tricksters and other, not as cool gods.
speccygeekgrrl42: (don't stop believin'. : Glee)
your synaesthesia.

This meme is too cool. :D

I had really weird and unsettling dreams about trying to defend a small band of friends from shapeshifting murderers, and also there was something about making a cake. And not being able to find a place to buy stamps. I woke up at 9:30 but went back to sleep until 11:30ish, because I can't handle mornings.

My plan for today:
-finally leaving feedback on all these stories I have open in Firefox
-cleaning my bedside table
-putting away my clean clothes
-walking around the neighborhood or doing some Wii Fit (three damn pounds, ugh)
-getting done with discussion 4 for English Lit (Industrialism, ugh)
-maybe doing a linkdump before bed?

This is a pretty tame list, I should be able to do it all...

...oh yeah, and NEW GLEE TONIGHT! Is everybody psyched about it? I am. :D
speccygeekgrrl42: (is that you Clark Kent? : Shaw)
Okay. My VESID application is done. I dropped off all the forms that needed dropping off, I got a copy of my transcript, Dr. Aikman is doing my recommendation. I have one week to do this essay, and on the 19th Alice is taking me to Wells to drop off my application.

I am okay with this. I think.

Here is my plan for the day:
-do that primary source review for George Sand
-do the reading for Ethics
-do the paper for Ethics
-start my college application essay
-start reading the Serenity RPG guidebook

My dad just informed me that there's a planetarium show tonight, so if I get most of this list done, I will reward myself with robotripping and stars. :D

I kind of think maybe a triple chocolate muffin and a large cinnamon coffe wasn't such a great idea after all. I'm kind of unpleasantly wired now. o.o
speccygeekgrrl42: (***SORT LIFE OUT*** : Shaun of the Dead)
You know, I keep a to-do list on my iPod, but I get more done when I put the list up on my LJ. Accountability helps a lot.

-Finish Mythology reading, at least up to the myth I have to summarize
--Do the summary

-Do the Western Civ reading
--At least get the header done for the weekly bio
-Contact SUNY Plattsburgh to get my transcript mailed
-Laundry
--including bedsheets
-Audiofic, which is the only acceptable non-homework use of a computer
-Find camera
--This may necessitate cleaning part of the room

-Wii Fit (no excuses, I've skipped the past two days)
-Start scouting pictures for a new LJ header (I'm thinking White Collar)
-Get another 200 words on one of my two WIPs
(well that didn't take long)
---If I finish one, I get a bubble bath as a reward. If not, just a shower.

Okay. That's four complicated things, four fairly straightforward things, and one thing I may already have done if I saved the right picture on my other computer. Assuming I wake up around 2pm, I could have half this list done by sundown. If you guys see me fucking around on LiveJournal, yell at me, would you?
speccygeekgrrl42: (boom de yada! : xkcd)
Sometimes I am a very easy creature to please.

An excellent episode of White Collar, a bath and a good book, and some ice cream, and I am in a much better mood than I've been recently. it's excellent ice cream, the new Ben and Jerry's flavor, Maple Blondie? Yum. So much yum. I do like maple flavor though. Everyone else in my family has turned their noses up at it. I say, more for me. :D

My mother and I started watching Quantum Leap tonight. She told me it's such a great show on the basis of only seeing something like a dozen episodes of the five-season show. That's okay, we only made it through the first 45 minutes of the first episode but it's got me pretty well hooked.... and yes, Scott Bakula was a hottie when he was younger. Om nom nom. :3

Here is my plan for tomorrow:
-do laundry
-do my Western Civ homework, reading and paper both
-do one of [livejournal.com profile] brighteyed_jill's audiofics
-start the Wells College application
-finish that Quantum Leap episode with Mom
-make cherry tarts
-get my lazy ass on the Wii Fit again because it's been a few days
-ask Mom if we can do spaghetti for dinner; possibly make it myself

This is a very doable list, and I have no excuses for not finishing it (unless I like, fall down the stairs and break a limb, that would be a pretty good excuse), and when I finish it I will reward myself with last week's Big Bang Theory which for some reason I haven't watched yet.

But tonight I am going to write some more of this Chuck fic (I am not setting a deadline for finishing it on myself besides, you know, the end of the Porn Battle) and finish this delicious ice cream and then try to sleep. I have been failing more than succeeding at that particular task lately, but I always get there eventually... even if it doesn't happen until after dawn.
speccygeekgrrl42: (*penguin surprise!*)
Dates I Am Excited About:

December 14: my final final exam
December 15: my last appointment with Lisa this year (PS, SELF: RESCHEDULE WITH DR MEHRHOF)
December 18: ~going back to Plattsburgh~, seeing my little brother graduate college, seeing all my friends for the first time in five months
December 25: (this is so dorky but:) Sherlock Holmes! yays!
December 27-ish: going back to Plattsburgh, round 2
January 1: I am damn well going to kiss someone at midnight if I have to liquor up some poor sap to make it happen so be it, my mouth has been lonely for like eighteen months now, this is my big goal for the new year: getting a kiss
January something single digit: potentially seeing my great-grandfather, which involves going to Maine which can be a drag but I really do miss Poppy
January 10: my Sunday classes start
January 15: taking a train down to Schenectady to meet up with [livejournal.com profile] l_loire, [livejournal.com profile] natural_intel and [livejournal.com profile] loveotter, in an awesome middle school reunion Januarymas party
January 25: my weekday classes start

This is by way of reminding myself that it is stupid to be depressed when all this cool shit is going to happen soon! And also something of a kick in the ass for myself because I officially have five days to review all my Yuletide canon and get significant progress made on the fic I haven't even started yet. Thank god I wasn't stupid enough to sign up for other fic exchanges, I would be a self-doubting wreck if I had more than one thing on my plate writing-wise at the moment.

But I don't, so I'm not, so awesome. :D
speccygeekgrrl42: (absolutely gobsmacked : Ianto)
Because having one is better than not having one: a to-do list/agenda.

7am: wake up! and don't whine about not feeling good and go back to sleep, you slacker.
8am: Botany Lab
10am or when done with lab: go to library and print out homework. stop by SSS, make sure test is there.
10:30am: hit the gym
12 noon: Botany lecture
1:30pm: lunch, review some more
2:30pm: go to SSS, take personality test go home or putz around on campus
4pm: Forensics Lab
5:30pm: home, start Abnormal Psych reading
8pm: Heroes
9pm: Lie to Me
10pm: haunt EZTV until BBT torrent gets uploaded, do yoga while waiting for it to download
12 midnight: go to bed early, AbPsych test at 9:30am tomorrow, ick

Good. A nice, structured day. Let's see if I can adhere to that schedule and actually get everything done. Now I just have to get to sleep... and I am totally going to cheat and take a sleeping pill because I am sick to death of laying in bed staring at the ceiling at 3am knowing I have to be up in 4 hours.

First, and most importantly:

N'AWWWWWWWWW. ♥ fennec foxes.

So. My plan for today:
-finalize the big bang fanmix (it goes up tomorrow oh god)
-make a cover for it
-do another chapter of botany homework
-then I can watch Big Bang Theory and see what I missed when CBS cut out for a minute. A minute could hold any number of punchlines!
-and if the repair guy actually comes I should do some laundry
-and also get my exercise in, lol I have an exercise routine that's so weird to think

I had really bizarre dreams about this fantasy kingdom with a strange system of magic. it was really well-developed, I wish I could remember more of it, but most of what's left is floating down a river on a raft. Not helpful for world-building.

V starts tonight! I'm pretty excited to see what that's all about. I tried watching the sneak preview online but my computer would not cooperate, so it'll all be new to me, which is cool.

Okay. Nose-deep in the revised version of the big bang fic I'm soundtracking. Focus, self.
speccygeekgrrl42: (***SORT LIFE OUT*** : Shaun of the Dead)
It's been a while since I've made myself a to-do list, but I think today needs one.

Get This Stuff Done:

  • Finish STBB pinch-hit fanmix

  • Do chapter 24 Botany homework

  • Get my Wii Fit on, yoga-style

  • Clean the flat surfaces in my room (because everything that can have stuff on it, does have stuff on it)

  • Write for at least ten minutes (warming up for WriSoMiFu, lol)

This is not too much stuff for me to reasonably accomplish today. I can totally do it. I just have to not be a lazy ass. :D
speccygeekgrrl42: (peekaboo! : Will)
Things left to do this week:

Today:
Botany at noon
Forensics at 4
Glee at 9

Tomorrow:
AbPsych at 9:30
Personality at 11
Lisa at 2
Fringe at 9

~FRIDAY~:
Dentist at 11:30
MOUNTAIN GOATS AT 8 AND MEETING UP WITH [livejournal.com profile] moorishflower AND AND AND *EXPLOSION OF JOY*

:D

Right now I am chilling in the student cafe, waiting for class time. My back is killing me, but that's nothing new. I should really go work out between classes, but I'm not really feeling it. Maybe if the workout center came with a masseuse on staff... xD
speccygeekgrrl42: (can't find his towel :Scotty)
I really don't know about this school thing, guys. But I've got to try anyway. Waking up this morning was hell; I hope taking a shower will help me shake off the pill-induced drowsiness because it stuck around until well into the afternoon today and I don't need that shit right now.

My backpack is prepped (kinda), my schedule is down (I hope), and I'm pretty much as ready as I'm going to get. Even laid my clothes out ahead of time. All I need is to not, you know, freak out or anything stupid like that, and I'll be fine.

Things I need to do:
-pick up pills
-call Lisa and reschedule for Thursday
-bring that book to the library, then grovel
-check in with admissions re: placement tests for Julia, so she can actually start now
-call credit card people

-possibly say 'fuck it' re:kink bingo, OR hash out 500 words for "film/photography" so I can at least get a bingo since the X ain't happening
-finish that box to send to that person
-finish that thing to send to that other person for person #3

okay. I can do this. Really I can. I'm a competent, capable twenty-four year old, this should not be an issue.
speccygeekgrrl42: (you've got to be shitting me : McCoy)
lawl.

I just finished cleaning my dad's car-- threw out all the trash, evacuated stuff that doesn't belong in the seat-back pockets, vacuumed and thoroughly Febreezed-- and while I was out there I let the dogs come run around the front yard and get some air.

I closed all the doors, hauled the vacuum back into the house, and called the dogs in. As pet owners will do, I babbled at them a bit. "Yes, you're good girls! You know what good girls get? Good girls get bones! Open mouth, insert bone!" Then I noticed the light was on in the downstairs bathroom, so I knocked to see who was in there. It was Dad.

"I cleaned your car out for you."

"Thank you. You can have a bone."

"Huh?"

"Good girls get bones."

xD

So that's another big thing done. When my mom comes home I'll do her car, except I'm going to have her park closer to the house so I can reach everywhere with the vacuum and not almost everywhere.

Goals for today:
-make last Heroes Slash Awards nominations
-write the Pushing Daisies fic
-open the rest of my Star Trek action figures (this is to be done after things that are actually work)
-online classes
-clean side table

Okay! Good. Doable. Here I go.
speccygeekgrrl42: (Chekov/math OTP : Star Trek)
First order of the day: being crapped on by a baby bird.

A-yup.

I helped Mom feed him. Which is hard with a squirmy bird and squirmy worms. Luckily my mom is a crazy hippie and raises worms, so we have plenty of them.

These are the things I will complete today:
-changing bed sheets and doing laundry
-catching up with my online classes
-finishing ONE story which will get all of my writing focus

And maybe after my parents get home:
-cleaning Dad's car to suck up and beg ten bucks off him

Looks like I'm babysitting Michael today. At least he's coming to my house and not vice versa... I can pretty much foist him off with a DVD while I work. And hey, money. xD AND I'm taking him to see Harry Potter at 1(?!)... sweet!

Dammit, I have to go to his house. :( Not a productive day after all. I'm totally ready to slip him a couple Benadryl, he'll be fine by the time he has a baseball game at 4... >.>

I think this is a reasonable, totally possible list. *DETERMINED FAIS*

(how to know you write too much smut: the word is "fallacious", not "fellatious")
speccygeekgrrl42: (tired)
16 banners to go. Sylar/Claire, Sylar/Eden, threesomes and both ratings of rare pairs. Eighteen done and uploaded isn't bad considering most of them are unique... and I'm sober now. xD

Tomorrow:
-feed animals
-water garden
-pick snow peas
-finish banners
-clean basement
-empty dehumidifier
-picture post?

my head begs for bed. ninight.
